APRIL WRITING PROMPTS


Are you looking for some writing prompts that are related to an April theme?  You've come to the right place!
Narrative:
Imagine you are attending opening day of your favorite baseball team. Describe your experience at the field. http://bit.ly/2ovsdzc

On April 20, 1933, Amelia Earhart took First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt on a flight. Write a narrative from the point of view of First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. How did she feel on her first flight? What did she talk to Amelia Earhart about during the flight? What are some things she saw while in flight? What was it like to take-off/land?

You’ve probably heard the saying, “It’s raining cats and dogs.” What would happen if it actually rained cats and dogs? Write a story about the day it rained cats and dogs.

Pretend you are a brand-new umbrella. Write all about your first day in the rain.

Imagine you could interview Mother Nature. Write five questions you would ask. Then choose one question and write what her answer might be.

Write detailed instructions on how to fly a kite.

Write detailed directions on how to plant a spring garden.

Pretend that “Spring Fever” is a real illness. Make a list of symptoms that people with Spring Fever would have. Create a detailed treatment plan for a patient suffering from Spring Fever.

You are planning a spring picnic for your class or family. Plan a menu and write about what games and activities there will be.
